Rick Dees is a legendary radio personality, comedian, and entrepreneur whose energy and quick wit have made him one of the most recognizable voices in entertainment. He is best known as the creator and host of the internationally syndicated Rick Dees Weekly Top 40, heard by more than 70 million listeners each weekend across the United States, 125 countries, the Armed Forces Radio Network, and even as the first English-language radio show broadcast to China on weekends.

Dees rose to iconic status in the 1980s as the host of Los Angeles’ top-rated morning show on KIIS-FM, helping turn the station into the #1 revenue-generating radio station in America. His unprecedented success earned him numerous honors, including Billboard Radio Personality of the Year (10 consecutive years), the Marconi Award, and inductions into both the National Radio Hall of Fame and the National Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame.

Beyond radio, Dees is a platinum-selling recording artist, best known for the global hit “Disco Duck,” and a Grammy-recognized comedy performer. His career spans television, film, animation, and digital media, including hosting Solid Gold, starring in La Bamba, and voicing characters in The Flintstones and Jetsons: The Movie.

A successful entrepreneur, Dees founded the Dees Digital Network and helped launch what became the Cooking Channel. He continues to expand his brand through Rick.com, serving as a hub for his entertainment and digital ventures.

A University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill graduate and North Carolina Broadcast Hall of Fame inductee, Rick Dees balances his entertainment career with philanthropy, farming in Kentucky, outdoor pursuits, and a passion for baking. He resides in Los Angeles with his wife Julie and their son Kevin.
